Rapper Pitbull may have done well in the charts, but he’s made a fair few enemies with his club bangers. So many enemies that they could actually exile him to Alaska. Let us explain. Pitbull and Walmart (like Asda, but in America, and therefore much much bigger) have teamed up to give people a chance to get theGive Me Everything star to perform in their local shop.
Bizarrely enough, the competition has been arranged in conjunction with Energy Strips, a brand of those sticky sheet things that you put on your tongue if you’re not allowed to chew gum where you are and you don’t mind eating stuff that resembles plastic.
More to the point, pranksters have realised that you can send Pitbull to whichever Walmart you like.Comedy website Something Awful thought be a LOL to vote for Pitbull to perform in a teeny tiny Walmart in the middle of nowhere, so found the most remote Walmart in America - the one in Kodiak, Alaska.
With a population of 6,130, Kodiak's biggest cultural event is the annual crab festival. According toGigwise, one Alaskan resident is particularly excited/surprised at the possibility of seeing Pitbull perform in his hometown, commenting on Reddit: "It’s not a regular sized Walmart, it’s about half the size and sells all sorts of strange stuff. Bear repellant, snow shoes, hunting gear.”
Did we mention that Kodiak is on an island over 50 miles away from the nearest bit of land, and 410 miles away from Anchorage, the capital of Alaska. To get there, you not only have to go to Alaska first, then take a plane. Or two ferries. TWO!
At the time of typing this very article, Walmart Kodiak has over 34,900 ‘Likes’ on Facebook. This is almost five times as many people who actually live in Kodiak. Would you like to send Pitbull into exile? Or do you think he deserves a bigger stage?
