National Fashion Championship

Good afternoon bitches, Cody here.  Anthony and I would like to introduce the newest writer for Raucus Nature, the Seattle Slew himself Patty Magnifico.  Aside from blowing bums for money Patrick also finds time in his hectic schedule to scribble a few thoughts down for us, and ultimately you.  So without further adieu, heeeeeeeeeeeeere's Patty!

Last night we saw a battle of the East and West Coasts, traditional versus modern, or so it appears.  A lot of people will look back at this BCS National Championship game and see a program at the forefront of fashion losing to a team cemented into the past.  However, we need to look closer at the branding of the teams before we make any hasty comments.

Oregon is well known across the football universe as a fashion powerhouse, they have more jerseys than Bernie Madoff has enemies (see I could have made a low brow Lindsay Lohan STD joke, but I didn't because I am classy).  Auburn is steeped in tradition, Cam Newton is wearing damn near the same jersey as Bo Jackson did when he won the Heisman. But, it's all about branding baby and the real battle tonight was Nike versus Under Armor.  As cool as Nike wants to make Oregon, it's still the old dog in the athletic world.  Under Armor is the young gun and they won out tonight.

What lesson can we learn from the National Championship?  New age embracing the retro style wins out, just like our new favorite brand Raucus Nature.  As the brand moves forward, I sure we'll see some badass gear, but I am most hopeful that we'll see the same dedication to the classic cool that is emphasized in the Raucus Nature lifestyle.
