Local songstress Wahu has a succession of songs that are all about how a certain liar has done her wrong. The natural reaction from her fans has been to ask who she has been referring to all along. People from some quarters guessed that she may have been talking about her husband and fellow singer David Mathenge, aka Nameless, who is extremely popular with the ladies of Nairobi. She was quick to put these speculations to bed, when she revealed in an Easy FM interview that the 'liar' is a fictional character. She said, "Everybody keeps saying: aya, maze sema tu ukweli, you know. (The liar) is a fictional character, but it is based on things that happen. You know people are liars."
