Busy signal’s camp is asking his fans to sign a petition to get his case in front of President Barack Obama who they are hoping will exonerate the deejay who was extradited from Jamaica to the US just days ago.
The artist, born Glendale Gordon, fled the US ten years ago to escape a drug charge. Upon his return to Jamaica he gave his name as Reanno Gordon and son his music career not only started but took off. Busy, who has worked with international acts from Machel Montano to No Doubt, was arrested at the Norman Manley International airport upon being deported from the UK.
The petition title “Exonerate Glendale Gordon AKA Busy Signal” reads as follows:
Glendale Gordon made a bad decision at a very young age and now 10 years later has become an International icon that children and young adults look up to. He served his time already and we now feel that the US Government should acknowledge this and all he has done in the last 10 years to show that he has learned from his mistake. We ask that you review his situation and move forward to grant him exoneration
He needs to have 25,000 signatures by July 21st, for it to get seen by Obama. VP Records Vice President Cristy Barber as well as Busy’s manager Shane Brwon have been spearheading their efforts by asking fans and industry commerades to sign up.
