Man United Prepared to Sell Nani as Contract Talks Collapse
Man United test transfer waters for Nani interest in case contract deal collapses
Manchester United have made moves to find out if there would be interest in Nani should his current contract negotiations collapse.
Nani’s current deal at Old Trafford runs until 2014 and manager Sir Alex Ferguson is keen for him to extend his stay.

Even though the Portuguese international did not have the greatest of season the 25 year old still weighed in with more than his fair share of goals and assists and is still very much a pivotal member of Sir Alex Ferguson’s attacking ambitions. However as this source points out, no one is indispensable and if Nani does not agree a new deal clearly the Old Trafford boss will consider offers for the player.
Having seen his side lose their Premier League crown and go crashing out of the Champions League at the group stage, no doubt the Scot is considering making some significant changes to his squad and could use the player’s lack of willingness to agree a deal as the catalyst for a possible sale.
Nani has done well to grow at Man United having for so long been overshadowed by his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo and the season before last was perhaps the former Sporting Lisbon man’s finest for the club and therefore it’s not all that surprising that he couldn’t hit those heights in the campaign just finished.
With Ashley Young having been brought in and Luis Antonio Valencia putting in a ‘player of the season’ stint in last term perhaps Ferguson feels he can afford to weigh up the possibility of a Nani sale this summer?
Nani has made 195 appearances for Man United since his move to the club almost five years ago, and has scored 36 goals in the process.
